His Excellency Prof. Mohamed Osman Elkhosht has been President of Cairo University in Egypt since 2017. Prior to that, he had held a number of academic and administrative positions, including: Vice-President for Education and Students Affairs at Cairo University, Egyptian Cultural Counselor at the Egyptian Embassy in Riyadh, member of the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Dialogue Center in Al-Azhar Al Sharif, Chairman of the Thought Committee of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Awqaf Academy for the Qualification and Training of Imams, permanent member of Science and Innovation Committee at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Director of the Cairo University Center for Languages and Translation, Training and Education officer for the Egyptian University at the Ministry of Higher Education, Cultural Advisor to the President of Cairo University, Editor-in-chief of Cairo University’s International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, Editor-in-chief of "HERMS Journal", Member of the Higher Committee for the Coordination of Admission to Egyptian Universities at the Ministry of Higher Education, Member of the Higher Committee of the Ministry of Higher Education for the Selection and Evaluation of the Work Performance of Cultural Advisors and Attachés, member of the Permanent Scientific Committee for the Promotion of Egyptian University Philosophy Professors.
Prof. Elkhosht has published several books and peer-reviewed research papers.
He has also received several awards and Certificates of Appreciation from the Arab Republic of Egypt and other countries and international organizations.
