Dr. Kyounggon Kim has experience in cybersecurity for 20 years. Before joining NAUSS, he had worked as a university professor specializing in collaborative focus at Korea University from September 2016 to August 2020.
He received his bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences from Soongsil University in 2008, and a master's and PhD degree from the College of Cybersecurity from Korea University, Republic of Korea, in 2015 and 2020. His research interests include cybercrime and digital forensics, smart city security, network forensics, cyber physical systems and IoT security. He received an Award for teaching excellence from Korea University (2018, 2019 and 2020). He published high quality scientific research papers for Q1 ranked journals and has authored a book on hacking and internet security and has translated several security books.

He was invited by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as a lecturer for Western / Asian Professors to promote the Education for Justice (E4J) initiative.
