With the ever increasing dependency on information technology (IT) in all fields of work and life, and with the increase in communication and globalization through the use of the internet, information security has become a central priority for those concerned with national and international security, as well as for IT personnel who manage the storage and transmission of critical business data. The establishment of the CCIS, as a response to the increasing need for skilled professionals in the field of Information and Network Security, was officially announced when the Supreme Council of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences issued directive no. 2/1/1323, on 25/09/2011.
The CCIS started offering courses in the academic year of 2014-2015. Currently, CCIS offers a Master’s degree study program in two tracks: Information Security and Network Security. The program lasts for three years, or six semesters.
