His Excellency Prof. Dhafer Youssef Ahmad Al-Sarayrah is currently Chairperson of the Accreditation Commission for Higher Education Institutions and formerly President of Mu’tah University in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 2016. Prior to that date, he had held a number of administrative positions, including Vice-President of Mu’tah University for International Affairs and Quality Control, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Mu’tah University, Vice-Dean of Faculty of Arts at the Mu’tah University, Director of the Language Centre at Mu’tah University, Head of the Department of European Languages at Mu’tah University, Head of the Department of English Language and Literature at Mu’tah University, and Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Mu’tah University.

Dr. Al-Sarayrah is also a member of a number of academic councils and committees in Jordan and other Arab countries, as well as a number of international committees, such as: Michigan State University (America), African American Literature Assembly, American Comparative Literature Association (ACLA) and Association of Professors of English and Translation at Arab Universities.
