Brief Biography

Dr. Shawky delivers lectures in the field of criminal law and has authored over 8 books, 35 peer-reviewed research papers, and 150 working papers in scientific conferences in Arabic, French, and English in his specialization. He has supervised several Ph.D. and Master's theses and served as a reviewer of theses in criminal law in Australia, South Africa, Brazil, and Morocco.

Scientific and Professional Experience:

  • Possesses over 20 years of scientific, research, and academic experience in various legal fields.

  • Serves as a visiting professor in the United States and France, delivering lectures in comparative criminal law and cybercrime.

  • Holds the position of Judge “Vice-Premier of Egyptian State Council” at “the Board of Grievances”.

  • Presided over courts in Egypt, the African Institute for Internet Law at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa, the International Association for the Fight against Cybercrime in Paris, and the International Cooperation Department at the Egyptian State Council.

  • Served as a legal advisor to the Egyptian government in several major national projects.

  • Served as an accredited expert for the United Nations and the African Union. He has drafted the African Union Convention on Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection.

  • Recognized for his scientific efforts with the "Medal of Excellence" from Egypt in 1998, the "Medal of Distinguished Services" from the Brazilian government in 2009, and the "International Prize Claire – L'Heureux – Dubé" from Canada in 2006.
