Since its inception, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences has paid attention to Forensic sciences , as they are the most important tool in criminal investigation and achieving justice. The Department of Forensic Sciences was first named Forensic Laboratories and was later known as the College of Forensic Sciences. Recently, to implement the strategy of the university and to accomplish the continuous development projects adopted by the university, these sciences have been placed under the umbrella of the College of Criminal Justice in an independent department. The department seeks to provide distinguished academic higher diploma, master’s, and doctorate programs in various disciplines of Forensic sciences. The aim of these programs is to qualify experts and employees in the field of forensic sciences, both professionally and academically, and to enhance their academic and practical capabilities.
Therefore, the department began to prepare the Master of Arts program in Criminal Law and Forensic Sciences, which is considered one of the distinguished programs in the Arab world. It is a program carefully prepared to meet the requirements of the present time to combat crime and its steady growth and to address criminal phenomena from a legal point of view. The academic achievements of the department will be followed by offering more programs, whether at higher diploma, master's, or doctoral levels.
1- Master of Arts in Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences
2- Master of Arts in Financial Integrity, in cooperation with Case Western Reserve University in the United States of America.
3- Master of Arts in Law Enforcement
The department has been keen to include the most important disciplines of forensic sciences and give them adequate attention and development, whether traditional disciplines, such as fingerprint inspection and matching, of documents, or advanced disciplines that require advanced laboratory equipment and qualified human expertise, such as Toxicology and Drug Analysis, as well as DNA Analysis. Recently, the specialization of Digital Forensic Evidence has become one of the interests of the department as it plays an important role in criminal investigations, in general, and information crime investigations, in particular.
