​​​​Mirza Mudassir holds a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology from Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, India. He has Qualified the national-level exam for Biotech Industrial Training Program from the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. He also has an additional bachelor’s degree in education. With over 5 years of experience in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) of DNA on all major NGS platforms, Mirza previously worked for MGI Tech Co. in India as a Field Application Scientist. He received 2 months of specialized training in DNA Sequencing at the Beijing Genomics Institute in Qingdao, China. Before working at MGI, he worked as a Field Application Scientist at Premas Life Sciences, a channel partner of the world’s biggest DNA sequencing company, Illumina, in India. He was trained and certified on all major Illumina DNA sequencing platforms. Mirza has hands-on experience with Illumina (MiSeq, NextSeq, NovaSeq), MGI (T7, G400, G50), and Thermo (ABI Genetic Analyzer 3500, Ion Torrent, Ion Chef system) platforms. He also has experience in DNA extraction, quantification, and profiling of various types of trace and forensic DNA samples. Mirza has hands on experience of Forensic DNA Analysis Software GeneMapper IDX. Additionally, he has hands-on experience with 7500 RT-PCR, Quant Studio 5 RT-PCR, Qiagen Ez2, and Applied Biosystems Automate Express instruments. He is also experienced in forensic biology, including body fluid identification.
