Master’s Program in National Security

To develop the academic and research capabilities of leaders in the security sectors of the Arab states, and to enable them to analyze strategies and formulate evidence-based security policies for addressing contemporary and future security challenges. This is achieved through high-quality education, specialized applied research, and a stimulating academic environment, within a framework of professional commitment, integrity, transparency, equality, and Arab identity—thereby contributing to the promotion of sustainable security and stability in Arab society.​




1 Special Admission Requirements:

  • Holding a bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: security sciences, military sciences, strategic sciences, political sciences, international relations, law, computer science and its branches, or any field deemed by the admissions committee to be closely related to national security.
  • A minimum of three years of practical experience.
  • Successful completion of a personal interview.

Graduation Requirements

Successfully completing the required program hours with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 out of 5.00 within the specified timeframe necessary to fulfill the requirements for obtaining the academic degree.

    • Develop the academic and research capabilities of security leaders in a manner that enhances their skills in strategic analysis and evidence-based security policy-making.
    • Strengthen leadership skills through applied, simulation-based learning.
  • G2: Providing a stimulating academic environment that fosters innovation, critical thinking, and applied research.
    • Establish an interactive learning environment that stimulates critical and creative thinking on security issues, and enhance student diversity.
    • Develop an integrated digital learning ecosystem that enhances academic interaction and facilitates access to learning resources, thereby supporting an effective learning experience.
  • G3: Delivering high-quality education grounded in international best practices.
    • Develop and update the curriculum in accordance with national and international quality assurance and academic accreditation standards, while adopting assessment methods that reflect the achievement of the program's learning outcomes.
    • Strengthen the applied research system and ensure the adequacy and diversity of faculty members in a manner that supports the quality of educational and research outcomes.
  • G4: Instilling professional and institutional ethical values that promote sustainable community security in Arab society.
    •​Embed a system of professional and ethical values (commitment, integrity, transparency, equality, and Arab identity) within security practices, thereby enhancing the trust of beneficiaries.

3 Expected Learning Outcomes:

  • First: Knowledge and Understanding
  • Interprets the principal concepts associated with security threats and risks and their comprehensive dimensions, and the impact of local and international political, economic, security, and intellectual factors on national security, and their role in supporting performance and decision-making.
  • Explains security issues and challenges, theoretical legal and regulatory frameworks, and scientific methodologies in the fields of national security at local, regional, and international levels.
  • Classifies applied research methods and policy analysis techniques in the field of national security.
  • Second: Skills
  • Analyzes issues and policies pertaining to national security from multiple perspectives to produce professional reports and presentations directed at a diverse audience of stakeholders.
  • Employs data and information, foresight tools, artificial intelligence and digital analytics tools, and intelligent decision-support systems in analyzing security scenarios, assessing future threats, and building strategic alternatives.
  • Designs innovative solutions for diverse security situations within the fields of national security.
  • Conducts applied research in the fields of national security to develop practical alternatives that support decision-making.
  • Third: Values
  • Adheres to standards of integrity, transparency, professional responsibility, and Arab identity in security practices and policies.
  • Commits to maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive security information in accordance with recognized regulatory and ethical frameworks.
  • Exercises professional independence in work and institutional leadership, and assumes responsibility for decisions and outcomes in the fields of national security.​
